Thank you for posting the cemeteries of Madison County, Texas.  I think I've found a transcription error per the following information.    He is shown as James Allen Wolfe, age 17, born in Alabama, living with his father Johannes "John Jay" Wolfe (mother Mary Ann Stephens deceased) on the 1850 Perry County, Alabama Federal Census,  Born 25 August 1831, Alabama, died 23 January 1908, High Prairie, Madison County, Texas per tombstone,  though the cemetery transcription shows J. A. WOLFE, 25 Aug 1931-23 Nov 1908(?) and the birth year  HAS to be a transcription error, buried High Prairie Cemetery, Madison County, Texas;  married Elender Amanda Gabriel on 14 December 1854, Lauderdale County, Mississippi per Lana C. Orr, who has a copy of the marriage license; born 22 November 1836, Mississippi, died 10 October 1908, High Prairie Cemetery, Madison County, Texas per cemetery listing on website http://www.rootsweb.com/txmadiso/highprairie.txt under Elender Wolfe, mate of J. A. Wolfe.  Linda Vaught has much of the same information.  He is shown as James R. Wolfe, age 48, born in Alabama, Farmer on the 1880 Madisonville, Madison County, Texas Federal Census, which computes to a birth year of about 1832;  Elender is shown as Ellen Wolfe, age 45, born in Mississippi, Housekeeper, which computes to a birth year of about 1835.   1850 census for Perry County, AL included (page 158 per Tom Harper)

  Page Number   311C          Per the census, James Allen was born in Alabama.  He then migrated to MS with his parents.  Many of his older siblings migrated from Mississippi to Arkansas before the above census was taken.  He apparently met and married Elender Amanda Gabriel in Mississippi, then migrated to Texas sometime between 1856 and 1858 settling in Madison County, TX.  Some family members still live there now.  The location they settled in came from Linda Vaught on a response to a GenForum query.  His nephew, William Patton "Pat" Wolfe stopped there when he arrived in Texas per Mrs. Dorow.  She knows the cemetery they are buried in, along with their children.   Children of James Allen Wolfe and Elender Amanda Gabriel
