WOLFE CITY - Charles Wilbur Wright III, 57, of Wolfe City died Monday at his home. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Dickson Ayers officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

The son of Wilbur and Edith Burnett Wright, he was born Aug. 5, 1941 in Odgensburg, N.Y. He married Shirley Lee Hammer on June 12, 1965 in Wolfe City.

Mr. Wright owned a Mobil gas station and was the Tex Pac agent in Wolfe City for more than 20 years. He also worked for R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Stephen Wright of Savoy, Charles M. Wright of Greenville and Mark Wright of Wolfe City; a daughter, Susan Stedry of Lindale; a sister, Edna Perry of Wolfe City; two brothers, Art Wright and David Wright of Mineola; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife on March 7, 1998; his parents; one brother and two sisters.

Pallbearers are Clevis Ticer, Valton Ticer, Tommy Jones, Sam Perry, Kenny Burks, Jerry Royal and Billy Don Burks. Nephews are honorary pallbearers.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
