WOLFE CITY - Irene Williams, 83, of Wolfe City died Friday at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Rev. Kevin Mitchell officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Born Nov. 11, 1915 in Kaufman County, she was the daughter of Jasper Newt and Rosa Splawn Aslie. She married Leon Williams on Sept. 9, 1934 in Ladonia. Mrs. Williams retired from Henington Publishing Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy London and Louise Birdwell, both of Wolfe City; two sons, Alton Williams of Royse City and James Williams of Winnsboro; two brothers, Horace Aslie of Fort Worth and Glen Aslie of Terrell; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home.
