Alvrietta Wilcox

WOLFE CITY - Alvrietta Wilcox, 88, of Wolfe City died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church with Rev. David Griffin and Rev. Evert Springfield officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 30, 1908 in Tupelo, Miss., to James L. Thornton and Sarah Angie Senters Thornton. She married Lloyd T. Wilcox on Sept. 4, 1927 in Hickory Creek. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Wilcox was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wolfe City.

Survivors include her husband of Wolfe City; one son, Dwight Wilcox of Duncanville; two daughters, Joyce Traylor of Dallas and Kathleen Williams of Pottsboro; one sister, Eloise Turner of Garland; two brothers, Gilbert Thornton and Shelby Thornton, both of Irving; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Lloyd Alfred Wilcox and Jack Wilcox, preceded her in death.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
