John Watkins

WOLFE CITY - John E. Watkins, 75, of Wolfe City died at his home Thursday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Dwight Gardner. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

The son of John L. and Mildred Decker Watkins, he was born Sept. 11, 1922 in Quinlan. He married Hazel Horton July 24, 1961 in Durant, Okla. He was a veteran. Watkins was a retired house mover and farmer.

Survivors include his wife of Wolfe City; two daughters, Barbara Malone of Tyler and Kelly Scott of Wylie; a son, Billy Frank Watkins of Rockwall; a stepson, Tommy Malone of Point; three sisters, Pearl Mankin of Wolfe City, Mary Sifuentes of Quinlan and Bobbie Warren of Longview; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Jimmy Hester, Rickey Hester, Mark Chamberlain, Barry Paris, Jerry Payne and John Parrish are pallbearers.
