George Hatcher

WOLFE CITY - George R. Hatcher, 95, of Wolfe City died Monday. Funeral services are at Ebenezer Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday with Wayne Aimes officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery of Wolfe City.

Mr. Hatcher was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where he served as superintendent of Sunday school for a number of years. He also served as an active deacon and on the board of trustees.

Mr. Hatcher was active in the Fourth District and Cypress Association and was a member of Old Glory 489 Masonic Lodge in Wolfe City where he served as a worshipful master. He was retired from E-Systems.

Survivors include a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Moreland of Tyler; two nieces, Mrs. Thelma Perry and Mrs. Myrtle Smith of Dallas; a nephew, Howard Hatcher of Fort Worth and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hatcher, three wives and all of his sisters and brothers.

Pallbearers will be R.C. Woods, R.C. Lewis, Don Wortham, James Pannell, John L. Brown, Jimmie Gaffney and Bobby Armstrong.

Grundy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
