WOLFE CITY - Funeral services for Willie Mae Gentry, 89, of Wolfe City, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Dwight Gardner officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

She died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.

She was born Dec. 29, 1909 in Pilot Point to John and Edith Simmons McCree. On March 13, 1929 she married Daniel W. Gentry in Wolfe City.

Mrs. Gentry was a retired cafeteria worker for the public schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Wolfe City.

Surviving are a daughter, Joan Elaine Fugate of San Antonio; two sons, Wesley Eugene Gentry of Athens and James Edward Gentry of Dallas; two half sisters, Mary Lemons of Wolfe City and Aline Laird of Tioga; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Her husband preceded her in death in February 1991.

Pallbearers are Roger Hendrix, Mathew White, Brian Hackworth, Randy Gentry, Sammy Fugate and Calvin Fugate.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
