Birdie Fulenwider

WOLFE CITY - Birdie Aline Fulenwider, 86, of Commerce, former longtime Wolfe City resident, died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Deteau officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 8, 1914 in Wolfe City to Willis Lovid Burton Woods and Cora Lee Onstott Woods. Widowed in 1963, she later married Roy Fulenwider in Durant, Okla. and he preceded her in death in 1986.

Mrs. Fulenwider was a retired seamstress.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Marshall Wallace of Cumby; two sisters, Margaret Moore of Wolfe City and Bessie Dunson of Granbury; brother and sister-in-law Ray and Fay Woods of Burleson; seven grandchildren and spouses, Vernon and Shirley Melton of Caddo Mills, Nancy and Danny McClure of Commerce, Roger Melton and Terri Goodwin of Greenville; Cora Lynn and Dwayne McAbee of Caddo Mills and Paul Kevin Banks and John Aaron Burks of Little Rock, Ark.; 18 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Great-grandchildren are pallbearers.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
