Bunch B. Bell

Wolfe City-Funeral services for Bunch B. Bell, 75, will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Owens Funeral Home in Wolfe City with Rev. Bob Layman and Rev. R.E. Lechner officiating.

Bell died suddenly at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, in his home. He will be buried at the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.

Bell was born on June 10, 1899 in Hunt County, the son of Will and Willie Stephens Bell.

Bell was a lifetime farmer and rancher and a member of the Hickory Creek Baptist Church. He married Winnie Mae Spradling on May 20, 1923 in Greenville.

Bell was selected and honored by the Upper Sabine Soil Conservation District for his outstanding contributions to the principles of soil conservation.  Bell’s greatest ambition was to leave, not only the soil, but the world, a better place for the future generations.

Survivors are his wife, one son, Sydney Glenn Bell of Dallas, one daughter, Mrs. Sam Martin of Palestine, three sisters, Vera Bell of Greenville, Mrs. Gladys Gridiam of Leonard, Mrs. Inez Turner of Dallas and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Edwin West, Bob Felty, Ray Perkins, Herman Compton, Allen Morris, and Glen Thacker. Honorary pallbearers will be life long friends of the family.
