WOLFE CITY — Iona May Turner, 97, of Commerce died April 19, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce following a one-month illness. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Commerce with Rev. Johnny Henderson officiating. Burial is at Mount Carmel Cemetery.  Born March 16, 1909, she was the daughter of J.J. and Ada Dowell Taylor. On Oct. 14, 1933, she was married to John Bunn Turner. She was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church, Commerce. 
Survivors are a niece, Anita Jo Wood of Dallas, and three nephews, Lester Taylor and Clifford Taylor of Dallas and Roy Taylor of Arizona.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City.

WOLFE CITY — Roy Lee Tolleson was born Sept. 1, 1941, in Sulphur Springs. He passed away May 1, 2006, in Dallas. He was the son of A.L. and Inez Tolleson, the fifth of their nine children (three sons and six daughters).  Married to the former Elizabeth Patterson of Fort Worth for 19 years, they had two children, Douglas and Cynthia. Douglas is married to the former Lana Butler of Malvern, Ark.; they have two sons, Ross (17) and Marshall (12), and live in College Station. Cynthia lives in Greenville. In addition to his two grandsons, Roy has 17 nieces and nephews.  Although he grew up farming, Roy worked in construction his entire adult life and moved with his family to the Haskel, Ark., area in 1971 to begin a job in Little Rock.  They later moved to Glen Rose and it was here that he started his own business. Roy operated Tolleson Construction Company for many years and built numerous bridges, roads and other concrete structures all over the state of Arkansas.
Roy loved his family, his many friends and his work. He enjoyed music, dancing, hunting, fishing, watching football, John Wayne movies, raising cattle and growing a garden.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel in Wolfe City. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.  Memorial donations may be made in Roy’s honor to the Greater Dallas Chapter, Alzheimer’s Association, www.alzdallas.org.

WOLFE CITY — Nina G. Maroney, 87, of Greenville died April 23, 2006, at Park Haven Nursing Home in Greenville following a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 8, 1918, in Tigue Station, Tenn. On Dec. 28, 1948, she was married to James R. Maroney; he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1995. Mrs. Maroney was a homemaker and a longtime Commerce resident.

Survivors are two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia and Edward Covey of Iowa City, Iowa, and Linda Maroney of Commerce; and a grandson, David Covey of Iowa City, Iowa.

Visitation is from 1 p.m to service time Thursday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City.

WOLFE CITY — Nelda V. Laton, 71, of Commerce, died March 28, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce following an illness of several months. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Rev. Bill Hazelip officiating.
Born June 25, 1934, in Dimmitt, she was the daughter of William Bryan and Virginia Williams Phillips. She was a greeter for Wal-Mart in Commerce, and she was a Baptist.
Survivors include a brother, Lee Phillips of Greenville; one sister, Ann Tolly of Fort Worth; niece Pat Forman; four nephews, Howard Wayne Baker, Jay Wayne Tolly, Toby Phillips and Terry Phillips; several great-nieces and nephews; two great-great-nieces; and numerous other relatives and friends.  Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

WOLFE CITY — Ted Barker, 97, of Wolfe City died Friday, June 16, 2006, in Smith Nursing Home. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Kevin Mitchell officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Barker was born Aug. 10, 1908, to John W. and Pearl Mae Shadden Barker in the Durham Community near Wolfe City. He married Edith M. McCright on June 18, 1930, in Ardmore, Okla. Mr. Barker was a blacksmith and farmer. He was a Baptist.  Surviving are daughters, Mary Fowler of Bakersfield, Calif. and Helen Raper of Lodi, Calif.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Lydia Smithey of Floyada.  He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 1, 2001  Pallbearers are Jim Fowler, Ed Fowler, Gary Raper, Colin Owens, Bryan Fowler and C.D. Giddens.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, which is in charge of arrangements.

WOLFE CITY — John Otis George of Paris, Texas, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at the Cross Trail Cowboy Church in Fairlie with Brother Jeff Bishop officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.  Mr. George was born May 23, 1914, in Winnsboro; the son of Henry W. and Emma Lue Harris George. He married Leona Barker Giles on Oct. 14, 1988, in Sparks, Nev.  Mr. George was a retired plasterer and a World War II veteran.  Surviving are his wife of Paris, Texas; son, Michael George of Redding, Calif.; grandchildren, Lori, Brent, Julie, John III and Vena; step-children, Vanetta Arriaga of Mount Pleasant, Frank Giles of Celeste, Gene Giles of Bogota, Elmer Giles of Canton, Miss., Dale Giles, Gary Giles and Tim Giles, all of Wolfe City, Jamy Giles of Lake Fork, and Tammy Giles of Cumby; and several step-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by a son, John George Jr., his parents and five brothers.  Step-sons are pallbearers.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Curley Evans was born April 6, 1929, in Navarro County, son of Florence and Willie Evans. He was reared by his grandmother, Betheany Harthorn. Educated in Navarro County, he left home in 1945 and worked all over the country. On Feb. 1, 1952, he married Erma Herron of Wolfe City, and 10 children were born to the union.  Curley worked at Certain-Teed Roofing Company for a number of years. He also preached on the street corners of downtown Dallas.  He leaves to cherish his memory 10 children, stepson Chester (Shelby) Herron of Denton, Shirley (Roy) Rivers-Youngblood of Reagan, Claude (Connie) Evans of Houston; Leamond Paul Evans of Lewisville, Edythe Evans, Brenda (Patrick) Montgomery, Tracy Aaron Evans, Timothy Carl Evans and Danny Evans, all of Dallas, and Marri (Jeff) Lewis of Wolfe City; sisters Ula Vee, Hazel Lenny and Margaret; brothers Jake, Robert, Billy Ray and Bernell; 30 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at 2025 West Wheatland Road in Dallas with Rev. André Byrd officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.  Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Grace & Mercy Funeral Home in Greenville.

WOLFE CITY — Lee Edna Horton, 92, of Picayune, Miss., died Aug. 9, 2006, at Covenant Health and Rehab in Picayune following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel with J.D. Horton officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.  Daughter of John Clinton and Jessie Mae Morris Hall, she was born Nov. 16, 1913, in Chickasha, Okla. On Nov. 2, 1928, she was married to William Colbert Horton in Van Sickle. Mrs. Horton was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.  Surviving are two daughters, Hazel Watkins of Emory and Dorothy O’Meara of Picayune, Miss.; one son, Wayne Horton of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and four sons, Rex, Eldon, Calvin and Frankie.  Pallbearers will be Ricky Horton, Larry Horton, Kevin Horton, Tommy Malone, Challen O’Meara and Calvin Horton Jr.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

WOLFE CITY — Johnnie C. Lloyd, 82, of Wolfe City died suddenly Aug. 14, 2006, at his home. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Dr. Kevin Mitchell officiating. Burial is at Mount Carmel Cemetery.  The son of Allen S. and Stella Stephens Lloyd, he was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Wolfe City. On Jan. 27, 1950, he married Doris Genel Howell in Dallas.  Mr. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a factory representative for a tractor manufacturer. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Wolfe City.  Surviving are two daughters, Sherrianne Shivers of Desert and Carolyn Hay of Austin; two sons, Marcus C. Lloyd of Fort Worth and Brian C. Lloyd of Fairlie; four sisters, Dortha Boswell and Mary Elizabeth Dygert of San Antonio, Laura Vaden of Colleyville and Betty Pierce of Greenville; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Members of the Business Men’s Sunday school class will serve as pallbearers.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.

ARLINGTON -- James “Jim” Woodruff, 79, died Aug. 24, 2006. Funeral services are at 1 p.m., Monday in Arlington Funeral Home chapel. Burial is at 4 p.m. Monday in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Wolfe City. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 1221 East Division Street, in Arlington.  
Mr. Woodruff had been a resident of Arlington since 1964. He worked for General Motors for 29 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a veteran. WOLFE CITY — Lessie Stewart Barker, 100, of Wolfe City died Sept. 13, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.  Daughter of John W. and Clara Ann Tingle Stewart, she was born July 22, 1906, in the Middle Sulphur Community near Wolfe City. She was married to Clyde Barker on Aug. 22, 1922, in a horse-drawn buggy in the Durham Community. Mrs. Barker was the oldest living member of First Baptist Church in Wolfe City, and she was noted around Wolfe City for her butter-fried pies and chicken and dumplings.   Survivors include three granddaughters, Novella Thacker and husband Mike Sheegog of Mesquite, Camilla Millsap and husband Harold of Greenville and Shannon Schumacher and husband Doug of Fort Worth; one grandson, Dick Owens and wife Ola of Wolfe City; eight great-grandchildren, Marcella Houston, Heath Thacker, Natalie Peters, Wendy Millsap, Heather Singleton, Colin Owens, and Anna and Alex Schumacher; five great-grandchildren, Justin and Kailey Peters, Lincoln and Dakota Thacker and Carter Singleton; in-laws Bethel Henslee, Bobby Owens and wife Millo, Ann Bridges and brother-in-law Gilbert Nelson.  She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, K.D. Stewart; a sister, Alveretta Nelson; two daughters, Billie Ruth Henslee and Minuewan Owens; and one son, Robert Bridges.  Pallbearers are Brad Peters, Doug Schumacher, Brad Singleton, Colin Owens, Mike Bridges, Pat Bridges and Heath Thacker. WOLFE CITY — Loretah Wilson Powell, 82, of Gladewater, died Sept. 21, 2006, in Gladewater after a lengthy illness. Graveside services are at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City under the direction of Dr. Kevin Mitchell.  The daughter of James Leonard and Mary Louise Hutson Wilson, she was born May 8, 1924, in Formosa, Ark. She married Clyde T. Powell Dec. 27, 1940, in Wolfe City. She was of the Baptist religion.  She is survived by her daughter and husband, Alice and Gary Palmer of Las Vegas., Nev.; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Powell; two sisters, Mae McKee and Beulah Risner both of Fort Smith, Ark.  She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one son, J.D. Zekisha Nevils, 23, of Wolfe City died midday on Sept. 21, 2006.  She was born Sept. 9, 1983, in Fort Worth to the parentage of Gwen and Willie Jenkins.   She received her education from Jordan High School in Los Angeles, Calif., in 2002 and attended Collin County Community College of Plano and Richland Community College. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Wolfe City.  In 2002 she was married to Charles Nevils.  She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of Wolfe City; two children, Syniah Nevils and Syquoah Nevils of Wolfe City; her mother of Wolfe City; her father of Fort Worth; grandparents Berniece and R.C. Woods of Wolfe City; and a sister, Jenna Wilson of Los Angeles, Calif.  A daughter, Keishanna Nevils, and a grandmother, Bula Jenkins, preceded her in death.  Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Rev. WOLFE CITY — Mary Ellen Shields, 86, died peacefully Oct. 5, 2006, at Smith Nursing Home in Wolfe City.  Mary was born Aug. 24, 1920, in Wolfe City, the third and last child of Frank and Lucy Bacon Shields. She lived in the Wolfe City area her entire life. She was a member of First Baptist Church.  Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mable Shields Teske of Victoria; five nieces and nephews and many friends.  She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles and Kathleen Lytal Shields and Marion Shields. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Rev. Kevin Mitchell of the First Baptist Church officiating. Visitation is from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. today at R.W. WOLFE CITY — Lester Glen Payne, 98, of Dallas died Oct. 8, 2006, in Houston following a lengthy illness. Graveside services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Von Corbett officiating. A memorial service is scheduled at the West Jefferson Church of Christ in Dallas at a future date.  The son of Frank and Lottie Norman Payne, he was born March 17, 1908, in Wolfe City.   Mr. Payne served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He worked as a printer for the Dixie Wax Paper Company of Dallas for 41 years. Mr. Payne was a faithful member of Sunset Church of Christ in Dallas for 58 years and served as a deacon for several years.  He is survived by a son, Homer Payne of Bakersfield, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.  His parents and his wife, Helen Holloway Payne, preceded him in death.  R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.

WOLFE CITY — Freddie Marie Sorrow, 70, of Wolfe City died Oct. 12, 2006, at Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Dr. Kevin Mitchell officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.  Born May 17, 1936, in Celeste, she was the daughter of William Fred and Ruby Marie Osburne Burns. On May 5, 1956, she was married to James Sorrow in Ladonia.  Mrs. Sorrow retired from Henington Publishing Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church.  Survivors are her husband of Wolfe City; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Karen Sorrow of Wolfe City; daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Dennis Hooe of Fort Worth; a stepdaughter and husband, Vickie and B.C. Coleman of Rockwall; three sisters, Dorothy Evans and Kathy Landrum of Greenville and Betty Norfleet of Mount Pleasant; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rhonda Sorrow; her parents and two brothers.  Pallbearers are Aaron Collister, O.H. Higgins, Mike Taylor, Tommy Caldwell, Chad Mashburn and Danny Paul Burns. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Wolfe City Volunteer Fire Department.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City.

WOLFE CITY — Joe Gay Milton of Wolfe City died Nov. 22, 2006, at Smith’s Nursing Center in Wolfe City. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.  The son of Johnnie Lee and Billie Louise Yarbrough Milton, he was born Sept. 2, 1948, in Wolfe City. He and Kathy Holmes were married in Honey Grove. He played athletics at Wolfe City High School and was selected to the All State High School Football, Baseball and Basketball Teams. He was picked as an All American High School Basketball Player by Parade Magazine. He played football at Wharton County Junior College and quarterbacked at North Texas State University in Denton.   Mr. Milton retired from the railroad.   Survivors are a son, John Thomas Milton of Honey Grove; three brothers, Larry Milton and Marc Milton of Greenville and William Everett Milton of Dallas; an uncle, Reuben Milton of Wolfe City; an aunt, Nancy Joe Haywood of Sulphur Springs and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

WOLFE CITY — Funeral services for Arvard Lee Bourquin of Dallas are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel. Burial is at Mount Carmel Cemetery.  Mr. Bourquin died Dec. 10 in Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.  He was born Dec. 18, 1926, in Dallas to Ernest Clinton Bourquin and Mary Johnie Miles. He married Emma Mae Wilburn on Jan. 8, 1949, in Dallas.  A veteran of World War II, he was a retired dairy plant supervisor. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove.  Survivors are his wife, of Dallas; a son, Arvie Bourquin and wife, Sharon, of Forney; a daughter, Emma Mae Bourquin of Dallas; one grandson, Jeremy Michael Bourquin of Dallas; several nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives and friends.

Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.  Mrs. Green was born May 14, 1917, In Celeste; the daughter of Claude and Estelle Addington Sumrow. She was married to Carl “Tip” Green on Oct. 20, 1942, in San Diego, Calif.  She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Wolfe City.  Surviving are son-in-law, Larry Macon of Sherman; granddaughter and husband, Holly and Matt Bronstad of Austin; grandson and wife, Trent and Jamie Macon of Sherman; grandson, Ryan Macon of Austin; three great-grandsons, Rhett and Reed Bronstad and Collin Macon; and one sister, Jean Asbill of Arkansas.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Herschel, Ellis and Doug Sumrow; and daughter, Donna Macon.  Visitation is from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday before the service at the funeral home.

WOLFE CITY — Donnie Edd Isbell, 60, of Wolfe City died May 25, 2006, at his home following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Monday at West Main Church of Christ in Wolfe City with Stephen Medford officiating. Burial isat Mount Carmel Cemetery.  Born Nov. 7, 1945, in Dodd City, he was the son of Roy Samuel and Opal Mae Jones Isbell. He married Paulette Prince on July 29, 1966, in Wolfe City. Mr. Isbell was a lab tech at Cytec. He was a longtime member of West Main Church of Christ. Survivors are his wife of Wolfe City; two daughters, Angela Morse of Wolfe City and Stacie Isbell of Keller; a son, Kyle Isbell of Rockwall; three grandchildren, Jaycie Crites, Jacob Morse, and Justin Morse of Wolfe City; a brother and sister-in-law, J.V. and Anita Isbell of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Cleo and William Barnett of Calera, Okla., and Inez Wigley of Spokane, Wash.; mother-in-law Hulet Prince; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Claudette and Frank Street and Helen and J.W. Cora Melton McAbee, 42, of Greenville died May 25, 2006, at her residence.  Cora was born on Dec. 9, 1963, in Royse City. She was an owner and operator for Cora’s Country Café in Cash.  She is survived by her son, Tyler McAbee of Caddo Mills; daughters Chrystal Dawn McAbee of Caddo Mills, Candi Lynn McArter of Greenville, Ginger N. Bryant of Caddo Mills, and Tammy McAbee of Caddo Mills; her parents, Marshall and Wanda Wallace of Cumby; one brother, Vernon and wife Shirley Melton of Caddo Mills; one sister, Therisa Goodwin of Greenville; and grandchildren, Katelyn and Kaden McAbee, and Ashley and Nathan Bryant.  She was preceded in death by her father, E.W. Melton; Granny Birdie; two sisters, Nancy McClure and Tammy Melton; one brother, Roger Melton; and one nephew, Randy McClure.  A funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Vansickle Baptist Church with Roger Ratliff and Randall Bost officiating. Interment is at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.  Pallbearers are Elliott Matlock, Adam Bryant, Justin Ayers, David Yarbrough, and Phillip and Chris Martin.  A memorial fund has been established for Cora McAbee’s children. WOLFE CITY — Lynn D. Smith, 80, of Wolfe City died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel with Brother Roy Dittmore officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.  Mr. Smith was born May 15, 1926, in Link, Ark.; the son of Tommy Lynn and Violet Pulliam Smith. He married Evelyn Marie McNeil on June 7, 2002, in Wolfe City.  Mr. Smith was a veteran of World War II and Korea. He was a member of Durham Baptist Church in Wolfe City.  Surviving are his wife of Wolfe City; sons, Craig Smith of Las Vegas, Nev., Gregg Smith of Wolfe City and Ricky Smith of Bentonville, Ark.; two daughters, Genie Walters of Houston and Pamela Smith Bunch of Loganville, Nev.; one step-daughter, Vonda Graham of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2006, at the funeral home.

WOLFE CITY — John Otis George of Paris, Texas, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at the Cross Trail Cowboy Church in Fairlie with Brother Jeff Bishop officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.  Mr. George was born May 23, 1914, in Winnsboro; the son of Henry W. and Emma Lue Harris George. He married Leona Barker Giles on Oct. 14, 1988, in Sparks, Nev.  Mr. George was a retired plasterer and a World War II veteran.  Surviving are his wife of Paris, Texas; son, Michael George of Redding, Calif.; grandchildren, Lori, Brent, Julie, John III and Vena; step-children, Vanetta Arriaga of Mount Pleasant, Frank Giles of Celeste, Gene Giles of Bogota, Elmer Giles of Canton, Miss., Dale Giles, Gary Giles and Tim Giles, all of Wolfe City, Jamy Giles of Lake Fork, and Tammy Giles of Cumby; and several step-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by a son, John George Jr., his parents and five brothers.  Step-sons are pallbearers.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

WOLFE CITY — Thomas Clarence Stanford Jr., 83, of Commerce died Sept. 17, 2006, at his home following a lengthy illness. Graveside services are at 10:30 a.m. today at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Rev. Johnny Henderson officiating.  The son of Thomas Clarence and Viola Jones Stanford, he was born Aug. 27, 1923, in Wolfe City. On Nov. 7, 1943, he married Minnie Addyleen Moore in Commerce.  Mr. Stanford was a veteran, serving during World War II. He was a foreman for a bag company and was a member of First Baptist Church in Commerce.  Survivors are his wife; two sons, Tommy Stanford of Dallas and Derreck Stanford of Belton; three grandchildren, Thomas Stanford and Rachael Mendoza of Dallas and Brandi Reilly of Irving; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Bethany and Thomas; and a sister, Marie Little of Greenville.  His parents and one sister preceded him in death.  R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.

Joe Bryan Bentle, 37, of Commerce, died from a lengthy illness on Friday, Nov. 10 at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.  The son of Jeffery L. and Christine Lair Creed, he was born on Nov. 11, 1968, in Bonham. He worked for drilling company and was a member of First Assembly of God in Wolfe City.  He is survived by his parents; one son Cody James Bentle and one daughter Angel Christine Bentle, both of Alvarado, Texas; two brothers James Bentle of Commerce and Bryan Creed of Wolfe City; and one sister Christel Vetter of Wolfe City.  Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

WOLFE CITY — Graveside services for Charles Wayne Swinson will be at 11 a.m. today in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, with Dr. Kevin Mitchell officiating.  Mr. Swinson died Dec. 14, in Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce.  He was born July 14, 1914, in Wolfe City to Charles Memory Swinson and Rosa Anna Reeves Swinson. He married Irene Johnson in Commerce. He was a retired farmer and rancher, and he was a member of Durham Baptist Church in Fairlie.  Survivors include one son, Otis “Junior” Eudy of Commerce; one sister, Ester Savage of Wolfe City; two brothers, Jack Swinson of Wolfe City and Louis Swinson of Fairlie.  He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, his parents and one sister.  Arrangements are under the direction of R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home, Wolfe City.
