LEONARD — Funeral services for Charles Rayburn Ross Sr., 85, of Houston, formerly of Kingston, are scheduled at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Kingston Methodist Church. Burial will be at McWright Cemetery.  Mr. Ross died July 22, 2006, in California.  Born Feb. 20, 1921, in Kingston, he was the son of William Sanderson and Margaret Loura Cole Ross. Charles was raised on a farm in Kingston where his father also served as the Postmaster and operated a general store and pharmacy. His mother was a school teacher. He graduated from Celeste High School and attended Texas A&M University-Commerce. Mr. Ross moved to Houston and obtained work in the roof construction field. For many years he was associated with the Universal Roofing Co., which later became Atlas Universal Corp. He was president of the Houston Roofing Association and a longtime member of the Houston Rotary Club. He was also a member of Houston’s First United Church where he served in various capacities for 35 years.  He was a loving husband and father and will be deeply missed.  Surviving are a son, Douglas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers James, Bill and Ralph; his baby sister, Marguerite; a son, Charles Jr.; and his beloved wife Joyce.  Memorial donations are requested to the National Parkinson Foundation.  Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

Lashelle Nicole Krantz, 29, of Greenville died the evening of Aug. 7, 2006, at her residence. Graveside services are at 10 a.m. Friday at McWright Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Ronnie Hickey will officiate.  Born Oct. 4, 1976, in Tyler, she was the daughter of Mike Hitchcock and Lita Beth Whatley. She was a secretary in property management.  Surviving are her father of Greenville; her mother of Whitehouse; two sons, Dakota Krantz and Daylan Krantz of Nashville, Tenn.; a grandmother, Dixie Pendergrass of Tyler; and several aunts and uncles.  She was preceded in death by grandparents Walter and Madeline Hitchcock and Ray Pendergrass.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
