Evadean Morris, 87, of Greenville made her transition to God on June 2, 2006. Graveside services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2006, at Hall Cemetery with Joe Slabaugh officiating.  Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.  Surviving are a son, Joe Morris of Campbell; daughter, Midge Starkey of Greenville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Morris, in 1988; a brother, Mason Glass in 1929; and two sisters, Benna Jo Brock in 1995 and Dorothy Jean Spruill in 1989.

Jewel Lee Stotts, 75, of Greenville, formerly of Lone Oak and Cooper, died Sept. 19, 2006, in a nursing facility in Greenville.  Mrs. Stotts was born Oct. 13, 1930, daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Mignon Miram Morgan. She worked as a seamstress most of her life and was of the Baptist faith.  She is survived by her two sons, Alvin Lawson of Cooper and Danny Daniels of Bogata; daughters Mitzi Joslin of Sulphur Springs, Brenda Garcia of Lone Oak and Sophia Wallace of Lone Oak; grandchildren Mandy Lawson, Jason Daniels, Shonda Joslin, Melissa Moore, Jordan Suits and Gary Dale Wallace; and eight great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Stotts in 1993; two brothers, Tony Morgan and Don Morgan; and two sisters, Ruth Lyle and Louise Boyd.  A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday at Lynch Funeral Service chapel with Mike Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Hall Cemetery in Lone Oak.   Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Caddo Mills - Hershell VanHoutain, 68, of Greenville died Sunday in Dallas.  Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rentfrow Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. D.L. Barrow officiating.  Burial is in Hall Cemetery in Lone Oak.  He was born Oct 2, 1931 in Antlers, Okla. to Hershell VanHoutain and Ethel Edwards VanHoutain.  He worked in maintenance.  Mr. VanHoutain is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Vetters VanHoutain of Greenville; two brothers Perry Palmer of Como and Lee Roy Mercer of Alba and a sister, Berta Mae Moss of Lone Oak.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Willie Jack VanHoutain.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Frank Payne
1955-2005

Funeral services for Frank Payne, 49, of Lone Oak, were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, at Dixon Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Cook officiating. Burial was at Hall Cemetery. Pallbearers were Danny Bowman, Ray Dooley, Robert Vice, Don Dukette, Dwight Grider and Jack Wade. Bartley Funeral Home of Lone Oak was in charge of arrangements.  Mr. Payne was born Nov. 16, 1955, in Greenville to James Franklin and Billie Bridges Payne. He worked at L-3 and was a farmer/rancher. He was a Methodist.  Survivors include his mother of Lone Oak; two sons, Billie Shank Payne of Lone Oak and Frank Clayton Payne of Sherman; a daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Andrew Moss of Arthur City; brothers, Otis Payne and Paul Payne of Lone Oak and James Gregory Payne of Como; two sisters, Fonda Neagle of Lone Oak and Linda Hernandez of Grand Prairie; a granddaughter, Mikayla Payne; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father.
