Lane Cemetery is
located in Hunt County approximately 1½ mile south of Wolfe City,
Texas
. It’s in the Oyster Creek Community, off
County Road
#4816, across the road from Phil Tanner’s home. There is only one grave.
This was the first (known) burial and the first (known) white child born in
present day
Hunt
County.
Hunt
County
was still a part of
Fannin
County
at this time but was formed two years after this. The grave is located under a large oak tree,
with an unmarked stone. The compiler has researched this cemetery.
