Loyd Lennon (Sulphur Springs News Telegram, Wednesday, March 10, 1999)

 

            Funeral services for Loyd Lennon, 86, of Miller grove will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at County Line Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Shedd and Guy Mays officiating.

            Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.

            Interment will be in Pippin-Hill Cemetery with Howard Garrett, Lewis Watts, Daivd Garrett, Junior Dicken, Mac Garrett and Stevie Tipps serving as pallbearers.

            Mr. Lennon died Tuesday, March 9, at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center.

            He was born Aug. 20, 1912, in the County line community in Rains County, the son of Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Pippin Lennon.  He married Margueritte Branom in Miller Grove Dec. 23, 1941.  She preceded him in death Jan. 29, 1994.

            Mr. Lennon was a retired farmer, rancher and carpenter.  He retired after 25 years service on the board of directors for Farmers Electric of Greenville.  He was a member of County Line Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 50 years.

            Survivors include two sons, Johnny Lennon and Rex Lennon, both of Miller Grove; two daughters, Judy Ashby of Henderson and Marjean Stotts of Miller Grove; three sisters, Veda Rea Terry, Ruth Gilbert and Oneta Carter, all of Emory; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
