Leonard Watson (Sulphur Springs News Telegram, March 8, 1988)

Funeral services for Leonard Watson, 67, of Route 1, Brashear, are set for 10 a.m. Saturday in Tapp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Burns officiating.

Burial will be in the Brashear Cemetery with Larry Mabe, Kenneth Rowe, Gerald Proctor, Larry Proctor, Ray Watson and Clifford Watson serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday in Tapp Funeral Home.

Mr. Watson died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in Medical City Hospital in Tyler.

He was born July 11, 1920, in the Divide Community, the son of Walter and Effie Patton Watson. He marrid Dorothy Proctor June 7, 1941, in Sulphur Springs. She survices.

He was a retired employee of Ford Motor Co. and a member of the Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one daughter, Brenda McCleskey of Round Rock; one brother, Eulas Watson of Winnsboro; two sisters, Vivian Mabe of Miller Grove and Veta Rowe of Brashear; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Everett Lee Watson in 1977, and a brother Paul Ray Watson in 1985.
