Otha Johnson Passed Away (Greenville, Texas, Morning Herald, Thursday December 12, 1935, pg. 8)

Well-Known Resident of Shady Grove Community Dies Wednesday.

Otha Johnson, son of Bloom Johnson, died at the family home in the Shady Grove Community at 6:20 o’clock Wednesday evening. Death followed an illness of about two weeks’ duration.

Mr. Johnson was married to Miss Mattie Akers on October 20, 1923, and to this union three children were born, one son, Charles Aubrey, and two daughters, Dorothy Nell and Helen Lucille. He is also survived by his father and three brothers, Rev. Aubrey Johnson, of Cooper; Sebren Johnson of Shady Grove, and Bloom Johnson, Jr., Houston.

Mr. Johnson was an active and useful member of the Methodist Protestant Church.

Funeral services will be held at the Miller Grove Church at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. P.G. Hightower of Caddo Mills.
