Freeman Johnson, Jr. (Sulphur Springs News Telegram, August 25, 1989)

Funeral services for Freeman Johnson Jr., 61, of Miller Grove are set for 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at the Miller Grove Methodist Church with Robert Ridley and David Burns officiating.

Burial will be in the Miller Grove Cemetery with C.L. Hall, Mac Garret, Junior Dickens, Frank Burns, Lewis Woodard and Elton Stewart serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Johnson died at 10:10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at his residence.

The family was scheduled to receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Tapp Funeral Home.

He was born in Dallas County on May 6, 1928. He married Rose Carter in Sulphur Springs on Dec. 18, 1964. She survives of Miller Grove.

He was a dairy farmer and a member of a Presbyterian church.

Other survivors include one son, Walter Franklin Johnson, Miller Grove; one daughter, Virgie Mae Johnson, Miller Grove; two step-daughters, Connie Hill, Sulphur Springs and Cathy Bates, Princeton; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Karla Sue Johnson DeMuth and one granddaughter, Valerie DeMuth.
