Funeral services for Walter Keith Burns, 68, of Miller Grove will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at County Line Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Thompson and the Rev. William Potts officiating.

Burial will be in Miller Grove Cemetery with Mack Garrett, Brett Garrett, Mark Garrett, Brett Darrow, C.L. Hall and Lewis Russell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Odie Taylor, Dan High and Junior Dickens.

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home in Alba.

Mr. Burns died at 9:40 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, in Miller Grove from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born Nov. 19, 1929, in Miller Grove, the son of Johnie Linzy and Virgie Bess Johnson Burns. He married Dorothy Faye Coleman on Nov. 29, 1954, in Hugo, Okla. She preceded him in death on July 5, 1981. He married Nevalene Hill on Aug. 2, 1992 in Hopkins County. She died Dec. 1, 1997, in the same accident.

Mr. Burns was the parts manager for Mack Truck Company for many years, retiring in 1984. He served with the Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Lake Highlands Baptist Church of Dallas.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Burns of Red Oak; three grandchildren, Jackie, Jeramie and Jena Burns of Red Oak; a brother, Jim P. Burns of Miller Grove; and a sister, Peggy Rohrer of Commerce.
