From I 30, turn south on County Road 4132. This county road is nearly on the Hunt County line. From 4132, turn left on County Road 4133, cemetery will be on your left. Can see it from the road.

Crain, J. A. - b. 6 Dec. 1835, d. 6 Mar. 1911 (Masonic Stone) (Obituary - Capt. Joel A. Crain was born in Hardiman County, Tennessee, Dec. 6, 1835, moved to Texas when but a child. Was married to Mary Ann Young, October 1856. Six children, five boys and one girl blessed this home union. He served in the Confederate Army during the whole of the civil war. He was appointed by Gen. Cabell as Captain of the 7th Texas Cavalry, which place he held during the entire war. He was actively engaged in a number of the most important battles: Elkhorn, Shiloh, Corinth, and Murfreesboro. He passed away March 6, 1911 and was laid to rest in the Sunny Point cemetery. )

Petty, G. M. - b. 12 Mar. 1841, d. 5 June 1916 (Obituary - Mrs. G. M. Petty, who lived five miles south of Cumby, died Monday following an illness of about a week. She was born in Giles County, Tennessee, March 12, 1841. When 18 years old she married Dave Petty and they came to Texas a short time after, locating near the home where she died. Her death occurred twenty-six years to a day after that of her husband. She is survived by several children. Twelve children were born to this union, but five are dead. Those living are : Mrs. John W. Martin, Cumby, Mrs. Bob Martin, Farmersville; W H. Petty, Blossum; T. A. and R. G. Petty, Brashear; D. O. and J. E. Petty, Commerce. Services conducted by Rev. Hardy, with burial in the Sunny Point cemetery)

He was 55 years old and had lived most of his life in Hopkins County, for many years being a leading citizen in the Cumby country until moving to Commerce where his wife died two years ago. Since the death of his wife he has made his home with Mr. & Mrs. Brashear, moving from Commerce with them a few weeks ago to Pine Forest. Besides his daughter (sic), Mrs. Brashear, he is survived by two brothers, Josh Penlteon of Dike and Dick Pendleton of Mineola. Funeral services and burial took place at Sunny Point, south of Cumby.)

Speed, J. G., Sr. - 1857 - 1938 (Obituary - Well known citizen of Cumby, died March 13, 1938, at his home in Cumby after a lingering illness of several months. Mr. Speed was 81 years of age and had lived in Cumby since a small boy. Funeral services were held at the Cumby Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Moore in charge assisted by Rev. Robert Ridley. Burial followed in Sunny Point cemetery. Surviving are his wife and the following sons and daughters: Clarence Speed, Lone Oak; Horace Speed and Marvin Speed, Brownfield; Kyle Speed, Campbell; Connor Speed, Amarillo; John Speed, Jr., Addie Speed, and Mrs. Morris Brem, Cumby.)
