Stouts Creek cemetery is located in the eastern part of Hopkins County. From I30, you go north on FM Road 900 to Saltillo, turn left on Hwy 67. Stouts Creek direction marker will be on your left. Cannot see cemetery from the highway. An old cemetery in great condition.

Crane, W. H. - b. 17 Dec. 1846, d. 29 Nov. 1932 (Obituary - W. H. Crane affectionately known as Uncle Billie, died at his home two miles south of Saltillo Tuesday morning after an illness of more than a month which developed in paralysis. He was 86 years old and had lived in this community for many years. He was a Confederate veteran, having served through the civil war with the Joe Wheeler Company. He was a member of the Baptist Church. His wife preceded him in death 17 years ago. He is survived by two sons and two daughters as follows: A. D. Crane, W. H. Crane, Mrs. J. T. Phillips and Mrs. B. W. Horn, all of this place. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church, with services conducted by pastor J. Wylie Woodfin. Burial in the Stouts Creek cemetery. Fite, L. M. - Unmarked grave - (Obituary - L. M. Fite, age 50, of near Dike, died of gunshot wounds received near Cumby at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon. A man who allegedly fired the shot-gun blast which killed Mr. Fite was released under a $1000.bond pending the action of the grand jury in August, after the examining trial. Justice of Peace E. T. (Doc) Gafford set the bond after the man had made a voluntary statement. Several other witnesses to the slaying also signed statements. Mr. Fite is survived by three sons, Woodrow, Aubrey, and L. M. Fite, and one daughter, Juanita Fite, all of Hopkins County. Final rites were conducted and interment made at Stouts Creek cemetery.) (Daily News-Telegram, Mon. June 6, 1938)

Lera Henry was born June 2, 1913, at Troup. Came to Saltillo when quite young. She is survived by her parents, P. D. & Cheely (sic) Majors Henry, two brothers, Hayden Henry of Overton and Billy Rowe Henry of Saltillo, and one sister, Miss Lorene Henry, who has been a member of the Saltillo school faculty for several years. She had been sick for two weeks, but her death proved a shock to her many friends.
