Old Tarrant cemetery is located about 4 miles north of Sulphur Springs. From the Sulphur Springs town square go north on Hwy 19. Right after you pass FM road 1537, on your right, slow down, the next right turn is road leading to cemetery. It is easy pass this road before you see it. The cemetery sign is on the left side of the road, just across from where you turn.

Altom, E. H. - 1881 - 1934 (Obituary - Ed Altom, age 52, pioneer citizen, passed away Tuesday morning from about nine days illness from pneumonia at his home two miles east of Sulphur Springs. He was a native of Hopkins County. He married Miss Net Thomas early in life, who died a few years later, leaving four small children. Later he married Miss Maye Currin, and to this union were born eight children, one of them dying in infancy. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Leo, Billie, Henry and Earl; seven daughters, Maudie Lee, Edna, Ruby, Betty Maye, Virginia, Eddie Faye, and Mary Etta. He is also survived by five sisters, Mrs. Charlie Roberts, California; Mrs. Leon Neighbors, Dallas; Mrs. Dave Reeves and Mrs. Sallie Sharp, Dike; and Mrs. Allie Argenbright, Colorado; one brother, Dud Altom, and his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Altom. Irons. He was a confederate soldier, enlisting in the 23rd Texas Cavalry in 1863 and served with honor until the surrender in 1865. Herman, Georgia L. - 1876 - 1935 (Obituary - Mrs. G. G. Herman of Birthright, passed away Nov. 19, 1935, at the Long Hospital where she underwent a serious operation Friday. She had taken ill while visiting relatives in Florence, Alabama, and had insisted on coming home. She was 56 years old and a native of Alabama, moving to Texas when a young lady. Before her marriage to G. G. Herman, soon after coming to Texas, she was Miss Lee Thomas. The remains were carried to the family home at Birthright and then were brought to Sulphur Springs Methodist Church where the funeral services were conducted by Pastor Clark A. Russell, personal friend of the family. Interment in the Old Tarrant cemetery. Surviving are her husband, four sons and one daughter, O. E., Guy, Noble, Herman, and Mrs. Willie Weir of Birthright, and Ulysess Herman, member of the school faculty at Miller Grove; also two brothers, Will and John Thomas, Bowie County, Texas. Georgia Leona Thomas was born March 12, 1876, in Giles County, Tennessee. In 1896, she moved with her parents to Sulphur Springs, Texas, where she married G. G. Herman on October 12 of the same year. The remains were brought back to Sulphur Springs and carried to Old Tarrant where interment took place on Tuesday with services being conducted by Rev. A. L. Walker, W. D. - 1863 - 1934 (Obituary - W. D. Walker, age 71, died Monday morning at his home at Dike of paralysis. He was a native of Alabama, coming to Texas when a boy. He settled at Itasca, moving to Dike 16 years ago where he has since lived. Surviving are his wife, four sons, Jim and Earnest, Dike; R. N., Itasca; and Jesse, Sugar Land; and five daughters, Mrs. L. Wynn, Mrs. Dudley Altom, Mrs. Eula Williamson, Miss Clara Walker, Dike; and Mrs. A. R. Groves, Sulphur Springs.
