HISTORY:  Santa Rita Ranch, in San Ramon Land Grant of 1804, was established by Julian and Petra Gutierrez Casas of Camargo about 1881. Casas' grandson Felipe Garza Casas (1883-1969)and his wife Rosa Casas Garza raised sheep and  cattle on his 109-acre share.  Their son Reyes Garza (1917-1976) married Rita Flores. Mrs. Rita Flores Garza, now of McAllen, raises Santa Gertrudis and American Breed cattle at the ranch.  Reyes and Rita Flores Garza donated land for a cemetery in 1965, after old Santa Rita Cemetery was filled.  The family maintains the cemetery
