It is with great sadness that I announce the death of
my Father, ROGER HARRIS ALEXANDER on 14 April, 2002 in Columbus, Colorado Co.,
TX. Burial, 18 April, 2002 at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston, Harris County,
Texas.
Roger Harris Alexander was born on 18 Dec 1916 in Livingston, Polk Co., TX, the
son of *John Elijah "Lige" Alexander and Minnie Lee Oates Alexander.
(*John Elijah "Lige" Alexander is buried in Decker Cemetery, Maryneal,
Nolan Co., TX.). Roger Harris lived in Nolan Co., TX. from approx. 1919-1921. He
and his family moved back to Polk Co, TX., after the death of his father in
1921.
Roger Harris Alexander is the Grandson of William Thomas "Tom"
Alexander and Emma Ellender Young Alexander, who are both buried in Decker
Cemetery, Maryneal, Nolan Co., TX. (Emma Ellender Young Alexander was the
daughter of Jasper Newton Young and Margaret Massey).
Roger Harris Alexander is the Great Grandson of Joseph and Mary Frances Peters
Alexander.
Roger Harris Alexander is preceded in death by his only son, Roger Harris
Alexander, II, who died on 11 August, 1959 at the age of 12.
Roger Harris Alexander is survived by his wife of 65½ years, Lilly Lee Wilson
Alexander, and three daughters, Beverly Ann Jacobson, of Rock Island, Colorado
Co., TX; Dora Dee "Dody" McCulloch of Houston, Harris Co., TX.; and
Thelmarie "Thel" Curtis of Stone Mountain (Atlanta), DeKalb Co., GA.;
14 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
