Davis, Floyd Dee
Nov. 29, 2007 - Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Dee Davis of North Richland Hills, Tex., formerly of Leonard, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel in Leonard, Tex. Charles Wrenn officiated. He died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at the Kelley Oaks Nursing Home at North Richland Hills at the age of 74. Burial was in Burns Cemetery at Trenton, Tex. Family visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Davis was born June 9, 1933 at Ivanhoe, Tex., the son of John Lee and Ruby Ellen Wells Davis. He was a Baptist and an upholstery helper.
He is survived by a sister, Vivian Tommie Davis Key of Leonard and numerous nieces and nephews, Tony Calloway of Keller, Tex., Doug Dandridge of Grand Prairie, Tex., Jim Nelms of Granbury, Tex., Ron Key and Charles Key of Leonard, David Mandrell of Blum, Tex., Ricky, Bobby and Michael Davis, all of Mexia, Tex., Danny Davis of Shawnee, Okla., Kenneth Davis of Ravenna, Tex., Debbie Thornhill of Whitewright, Tex., Fay Gill of Mexia, Shelia Langston of Grand Prairie, Kathy Watson of Texas, Mary Sue White and Linda Ann Ramsey, both of Albion, Okla., Sandra Davis of Colorado, Joyce Davis of Tennessee, Betty Davis Lakey and Virginia Davis McDowell, both of Ravenna and Brenda Davis Hale of Savoy, Tex. He is also survived by numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Piott, James Harold
Dec. 6, 2007 - TRENTON – Funeral services for James Harold Piott, age 88 of Trenton, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Trenton. Rev. Mark Long and Rev. Joe Ed Goolsby officiated. Burial followed at Burns Cemetery in Trenton. He died Tuesday evening, Nov. 27, 2007 at the Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.
Mr. Piott was born Oct. 6, 1919 in the Klondike community east of Trenton, the son of James Nathaniel Piott and Leura Stevens. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1936, then served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. James married Addran Ownby on March 22, 1945 in Bonham. James was a long-time member of the Trenton First United Methodist Church. He was a career farmer who enjoyed the land and tending his cattle almost every day of his life.
James was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Isabelle Piott and a great-granddaughter, Kennedy Embrey.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Addran; daughter, Pam Thompson and husband Steve; son, Jim and wife Carolene, all of Trenton; grandchildren Amy Embrey, Amber James, Susie Welch, Aaron and Blake Piott; great-grandchildren, Kasen and Kenleigh Embrey, Matthew and Rachel James and Shasta and Shawn Welch; sisters-in-law, Polly Smith of Bonham and Jerline Ownby of Leonard; brother-in-law, R.L. Ownby and wife Sally of Chico, Calif.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Jim Piott, Aaron Piott, Randy Ownby, Steve Thompson, Bryan Embrey and Steve James. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Ready, Leon Moore, Odell Wilson, Mac Woodruff and World War II Navy buddy Thurman Price.

Short, Buford Kay
FARMERSVILLE — Buford Kay Short, 65, of Rowlett, died April 18, 2008. A graveside service is scheduled am - 4 p.m. Sunday at Burns Cemetery in Trenton with Rev. John Livaudais officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville. Born Nov. 2, 1942, in Trenton, he was the son of Deemer and Grace M. Robinson Short. Buford Kay Short, 65, of Rowlett, passed away on April 18, 2008 in Rowlett. He was born Nov. 2, 1942 in Trenton to Deemer and Grace Robinson Short. He is survived by sisters Jane Clifton of Buford, Ga., and Betty Myers of Rowlett. Graveside services took place at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Burns Cemetery in Trenton. Rev. Tilger, Coach
March 13, 2008 - Coach Tilger was born September 26, 1930 in Trenton, Texas and departed this life, March 11, 2008. Coach was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Alice Louise Tilger, and his sister Lenora Ray Parks. He is survived by his brother-in-law, David L. Parks of Trenton; nieces, Carrie Kincade and her family of Telephone, Texas and Laurie Countryman of Aledo, Texas; nephew David Mark Parks and his family of Burleson, Texas; his extended family of several years at Leonard Manor Nursing Home and a host of other family and friends.
Coach was a graduate of Trenton High School and East Texas State College. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Teacher and Coach from the Dallas Independent School District.
Graveside services will be held at Burns Cemetery in Trenton, Texas on March 13, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. David Mark Parks Ph.D., Coach’s nephew, will be in charge. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Trenton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Herman Martin Tilger to the Huntington Disease Society, 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY 10018.

Wilson, Frances
Funeral services for Frances Wilson, 60 of Trenton, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Trenton with Rev. James Henry and Rev. Steve Holland officiating. Burial was in the Burns Cemetery in Trenton. She died at her residence on Friday, Jan. 19. Visitation was Monday, Jan. 22, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Earnheart Funeral Chapel in Trenton.
She was born July 16, 1946 in Sherman, the daughter of L.C. Wilbanks and Sylvia Mae Wood. She married Odell Wilson on Aug. 18, 1966, in Trenton. She worked in Home Health and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Trenton.
She is survived by her husband, Odell Wilson, of Trenton; father, L.C. Wilbanks of Trenton; daughter, Lisa Thompson of Bonham; son, Billy Wilson of Kingsland, Tex.; brother, Mike Wood of McKinney; sisters, Melessa Clevenger of Frisco and Martha Barnard of Hughes Springs, Tex.; four grandchildren.

Woodruff, R.T.
Funeral services for R.T. Woodruff, 90 of Greenville, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Leonard with Rev. Ted Eaton, Rev. Morris Robbins and Rev. Bobby Sparks officiating. Burial was in the Burns Cemetery in Trenton. He died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Greencrest Manor in Greenville.
He was born June 13, 1917 in Randolph, Tex., the son of Alton Tony Woodruff and Fannie Pearl Russell Woodruff. He married Kathryn Blackwell on Nov. 13, 1942 in Leonard. He worked for the Texas Highway Department and was a member of the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church of Greenville. He served as a deacon for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Woodruff of Greenville; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Valerie Woodruff of Greenville; sisters, Sue Anderson of Randolph and Billie Hawkins of Hurst; brothers, Mac Woodruff and Pete Woodruff, both of Trenton and Jack Woodruff of Hurst; grandchildren, Amber Dever, Adam and Austin Woodruff, all of Greenville.
Family visitation was held Friday, May 16, from 6-8 p.m.
