Elm Branch Cemetery aka Bardwell Cemetery

The Elm Branch Cemetery is located 1.7 miles south of Bardwell on FM 984 which runs to Rankin.

My uncle Arthur C. Gorman of Rankin has chaired the cemetery board for at least the past 15 years and most of my relatives, including mother, father, grandparents, great-grandparents are buried there. Although refered to as the Bardwell Cemetery by residents of Bardwell, probably 70% of the burials at Elm Branch are from people in the rural countryside around Rankin and Byrd.

The official registered name used by the cemetery association is Elm Branch Cemetery and a brand new monument erected two years ago at the front of the cemetery identifies it as Elm Branch Cemetery. (Information by William Gorman)
