FORT WORTH — Pauline Elizabeth Sibley, 85, a devoted wife and mother, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at a local hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 5550 E. Lancaster, Fort Worth. Burial followed at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas Cemetery in Pilot Point. Rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at Mount Olivet Funeral Home, 2301 N. Sylvania Ave., Fort Worth, with visitation following from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Pauline was born Nov. 5, 1922, to Edmond and Ida Till in Tioga. She grew up in Pilot Point, one of five children. She moved to Fort Worth in the 1940s and worked for Delta Airlines before meeting and marrying the love of her life, G. H. Sibley. They were married on Sept. 17, 1949, in Fort Worth and eventually settled in Richland Hills, where they raised four children.
Pauline loved music, and being of German heritage, enjoyed polka dancing, beer and sauerkraut. She also was an avid gardener—the proof was in her beautiful yard—and she and G. H. loved taking road trips, wherever the destination.
Her family was very important to Pauline. The Sibleys were a close-knit group who gathered routinely on weekends and holidays to share her home cooked meals. Though she never considered herself a great cook, the family knew otherwise. Her Thanksgiving dressing was a family favorite.
Survivors: Sons, Tim, Denny and Chris and wife, Amy; daughter, Theresa, all of North Richland Hills; granddaughter, Rachael; brother, Leo Till of Arlington; sister, Cathy Mize and husband, John of Sherman. ~ ~ ~ Pilot Point Post Signal, Friday, May 09, 2008
