Bates Cemetery

Little Elm,  Denton County, Cemeteries of Texas

Transcription Submitted by Bob Leahy, AUG 2006

In November 2007, George and James Bates , sons of Rev. William Edmunds Bates & Susan Wright   were moved to Oak Grove Cemetery in Denton County, so there no longer is a BATES CEMETERY.  (Bob Leahy)
Bates Cemetery is a bit of a misnomer as it comprises just two graves all alone along a barbed wire fence.  These two markers are broken.  They lie near an area, which is being cleared for development.  I could find no information of other burials in this area.

From Little Elm, go East on Eldorado Parkway (FR 2934) to Legacy.  Turn North and follow the road all the way to a dead end at an east-west tree row--about 1 mile. (The first half mile is new pavement.  The road then becomes a narrow, dirt road.  Continue North, taking a slight jog to the right around a small, white house.) The two broken markers lie West of the road near the barbed wire fence.
