Funeral services for Mamie Russell, 85, of Emory were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 21, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lou Novak officiating. Burial was at 2:00 p.m. in Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas. Family members served as pallbearers with grandchildren serving as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Russell was born October 10, 1919 in New Albany, Miss. to Robert Franklin and Essie Bell Lummus Moore. In the spring of 1937, she married James Robert Russell. She was a retired Texas Instruments employee and was a member of Smyrna Union Church. She was also an Eastern Star member. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James Robert and Dathene Russell of Emory; and Joseph Keith and Kim Russell of Grayslake, ILL. grandchildren, Robert Ryan Russell, Regina Rhea Russell, Courtney René Russell, and Allison Nicole Russell Blackert; great grandchildren Cory, Curtis, Matthew, Mark, and Robyn Russell, Chelsea, Chaz, and Glori Hamm. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Earl and Curtis Moore; and one sister, Dale Humphrey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smyrna Union Church
