Carroll C Atchley, 1917-1999

PITTSBURG - Services for Mr. Carroll C. Atchley, 81, of Pittsburg were held at 10 a.m. today in Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brock Mullino officiating.

Burial was at Macedonia Cemetery.

Mr. Atchley died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at East Texas Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Blanche Atchley; 4 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Linda & Ernest Drain, Atoka, OK, Evelyn Smith, Keller, Sue & Wade McDaniel, Weatherford, and Barbara & Ed Lowrey, Fort Worth; a brother and sister-in-law, Nolen & Pat Atchley, Tucson, AZ; a sister and brother-in-law, Margie & Danny Frey, San Diego, CA, 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Olen Atchley.

Mr. Atchley was born in Mineral, AR on Nov. 9, 1917, to John W. & Dillie Frachiseur Atchley. A U.S. Army veteran of World War 11, he was injured in the European Theater of Operations. A resident of Pittsburg since 1986 when he moved from Grapevine, he was a retired truck driver and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Pallbearers were Herbert Marshall, Wayne Hadderton, Jackie Howell, A.J. Stark-, Ed Lowrey and Russell Gilbert.

CARROLL C. ATCHLEY
November 9, 1917 - March 21, 1999

PITTSBURG - Mr. Carroll C. Atchley, age 81, of Pittsburg, passed away March 21 at the East Texas Medical Center, in Pittsburg.

He was born November 9, 1917, in Mineral, AR, to John W. and Dillie Frachiseur Atchley. Mr. Atchley was a retired truck driver and member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, in Pittsburg. He was a World War 11 disabled veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and being injured in the European Theater. Mr. Atchely had lived in Pittsburg since 1986, having moved from Grapevine.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Olen Atchley.

Funeral services for Mr. Atchley will be held March 25 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home, with Reverend Brock Mullino officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery, with Herbert Marshall, Wayne Hadderton, Jackie Howell, A.J. Stark, Ed Lowrey and Russell Gilbert serving as pallbearers. Family visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on March 24 at the funeral home. Erman Smith Funeral Home, in Pittsburg, is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Atchley is survived by: his wife, Blanche Atchley of Pittsburg; daughters and sons-in-law - Linda and Ernest Drain of Atoka, OK, Evelyn Smith of Keller, Sue and Wade McDaniel of Weatherford, and Barbara and Ed Lowrey of Ft. Worth; brother, Nolen and Pat Atchley of Tucson, AZ, Margie and Danny Frey of San Diego, CA; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
