She will be greatly missed but her remaining loved ones know she is no longer suffering and is at peace and rejoicing in her heavenly home. Ms. "Al" was born April 25,1929 to Issac Jack and Mary Frances Crawford Enterkin in Jena, La. She was the fourth child and only girl with five brothers. She always wanted to be "one of the boys" so they quickly dubbed her "Al" and it stuck for life. She was always full of life and believed if you had to do something you might as well have fun at the same time. She loved a good joke and often had everyone around her laughing. She retired at an early age on a medical disability from Red River Army Depot and always enjoyed fishing and camping. She loved helping others and had been a Girl Scout leader, a babysitter, a liquid embroidery salesperson and a crafter. In her early years she had a beauty salon in Camden, AR known as Al’s Beauty Shop. She always laughed and said new customers came in expecting a good looking man and there she stood. She loved plants and the "green thumb" which her daughters did not inherit. She was active in Rock Creek Baptist Church until her health made it impossible to attend. She started each day with her coffee and Bible. Hardly anyone in Redwater went to or from a baseball game or after school with out stopping at Ms. Al’s sno-cone. She was Mama to her girls and Memaw to her grandchildren and all the children she sat with over the years. Ms. "Al" was preceded in death by two husbands, Aubrey J. McDowell and Joe L. Dillard, as well as her parents and four brothers, Allen Crawford, Jack Enterkin, and R.L. Enterkin.
