Variant Name:  Andrew's Chapel Cemetery

on Hwy. 56 west of Kopperl;
To arrive at the Brazos Point Cemetery, from Highway 174 between Morgan and Kimball Bridge over the Brazos River,take Hwy 56 N to Brazos Point, 9 miles.  The cemetery is north of the church. In 1916 the trustees of the church sold the south side of this ten acres to P.W. Williams, leaving the north side, or cemetery, for the community.  Since the church was called Andrew's Chapel, the cemetery was also called the Andrew's Chapel Cemetery in early days.

Some burials were made here before 22 OCT 1869 when Joseph & Susan P. DAY, Joseph's wife, deeded ten acres to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church South.  This land was deeded to be used for a church and for a cemetery.  In 1916 the trustees of the church sold the south side of this ten acres to P. W. WILLIAMS, leaving the north side of cemetery, for the community. Since the church was called Andrew's Chapel, the cemetery was also called the Andrew's Chapel Cemetery in early days.  Several hangings took place in the trees here in early days. These people were buried on the spot.
A cemetery association cares for the upkeep.
