Fairchild-Dubose Cemetery

Location & Directions: this cemetery is located on the same private property as McCarty Cemetery, behind the same locked gates, just down a different trail it is part of hunting lease also:from Lufkin go out Hwy.94 west past Hudson Schools,turn left
on FM.RD.2497,go to where the old railroad tracks use to be take an immediate right , go approx.1/4 mile to locked iron gate on left, cemetery will be down this road, 2nd trail to the right at sign with arrow pointing direction approx.1 mile hike.  NOTE: this trail narrow and muddy!

A.P.Dubose-Oct.3,1885-July23,1919

This cemetery is definitaly "way back in the woods" and rarely ever seen by anyone
other than hunters.The graves are "scattered" throughout the woods and underbrush.
There have been 17 small white crosses placed beside the unknown stones that were
used to mark the gravesites of the early burials and 2 have newer headstones
placed beside the old original now unreadable markers:these are way in the back,the
"crypt"style graves.This cemetery also has windchimes hung throughout......

"yet again we hope to meet her when the cares of life have fled:then in heaven
with joy to greet her,where no farewell tear is shed"
